Privacy policy
This policy matches the scripts the pages actually load. ShredDead.com loads Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra on the first page view, without waiting for a click. The cookie banner is a notice and a withdrawal control, not a gate: Reject stops GA4, Clarity and Adsterra from being requested on later page views, the Google tag library included. Reject is remembered for 180 days, and Accept turns measurement and integrations back on. Questions go to [email protected].
What loads, and when
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement
G-S80RB506G0) loads fromwww.googletagmanager.comand reports to*.google-analytics.comand*.analytics.google.com. It counts page views and basic events. Consent Mode starts with analytics on and the three ad signals off; Reject sends a denied update, disables GA4 and stops the tag library from being requested, so no hit is sent from that browser. - Microsoft Clarity (project
z4kvrc0w9w) loads fromwww.clarity.ms/tag/andscripts.clarity.ms, and sends session recordings and heatmap data to*.clarity.ms. Clarity masks form inputs by default. Reject means the loader never creates its script. - Adsterra (publisher
3403020, website6156312) serves a Native Banner (unit31960700) above the footer and a Social Bar (unit31960701) fixed at the bottom. Both load by default frombicea.org. Browser checks on 28 October 2026 also observed the delivery hostsstatic.nresystems.com,cdn.storageimagedisplay.com,cdn.show-sb.com,cdn.show-creative1.comandcdn.cloudpiko.com; delivery hosts can vary by placement and visit. The site's placement configuration marks adult ads off. Reject stops both snippets and their delivery requests on subsequent page views. - YouTube: the video cards show a local still. The
youtube-nocookie.comiframe is created only after you press Play, and Google may then set its own cookies under its policy. - itch.io: on a wide screen, pressing Play free demo creates an
itch.ioiframe. On a narrow screen the same button is an ordinary link. itch.io receives that request under its own policy. - Outbound links to Steam, YouTube channel pages, Discord and the developer's store page are ordinary links; they load only if you follow them.
- The site's own fonts and images are served from this domain. There is no font CDN request.
Storage keys and retention
| Key | Where | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| shreddead_consent_v1 | localStorage | Your Accept or Reject choice, with a reason, a timestamp and an expiry. This is how Reject keeps the three vendors off. | 180 days, then the default-on path runs again. |
| shreddead_socialbar_closed | localStorage | Set when you press Hide ad bar. It stops the fixed Social Bar from being injected on later visits. | Until you clear site data. |
| _ga, _ga_<suffix> | cookies | Google Analytics 4 client and session identifiers. | Up to 2 years. |
| _clck | cookie | Microsoft Clarity user identifier. | About 1 year. |
| _clsk | cookie | Microsoft Clarity session identifier. | About 1 day. |
| CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, SM | Microsoft third-party cookies, where browser settings permit | Clarity identifies browsers and synchronizes Microsoft identifiers; see Microsoft's cookie documentation. | Vendor-defined; see the linked Microsoft policy. |
| Adsterra and partner cookies | cookies on their domains | Ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement. Names and lifetimes are set by Adsterra and its partners. | Described in Adsterra's privacy policy. |
The choice record is JSON with a choice of granted or denied, a reason, a timestamp and an expiry. With no record, the first visit loads the three services and shows the banner; it does not record this default as your choice, so the banner remains available on later pages until you choose. Reject writes denied for 180 days and reloads the page without GA4, Clarity or Adsterra; the tag library is not requested and GA4 is disabled for that browser, so nothing is measured in that browser. Accept records granted. Cookie settings in the footer reopens the banner, and Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is always treated as Reject.
Ads, personalized advertising and opt-outs
Adsterra is the only ad network on this site and adult ads are off. Adsterra and its delivery partners may use cookies or device identifiers to cap frequency, prevent fraud, measure delivery and, where you have not rejected it, personalize ads. The banner's Reject control withdraws that use for this browser. You can also opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, YourAdChoices, Your Online Choices and the NAI opt-out. Adsterra's own practices are described in its privacy policy.
Microsoft Clarity data can be limited through Microsoft's privacy controls. Microsoft's Clarity cookie list describes first-party and third-party identifiers. Browser settings can block cookies, and clearing site data removes the two ShredDead localStorage keys.
Legal basis, rights, and changes
- GA4, Clarity and Adsterra are enabled before an explicit choice under this site's default-on setting. A default-on load is not an affirmative consent action. Accept and Reject record your preference; Reject stops future measurement and ad loading but does not erase requests already sent.
- Serving the page and keeping the short preference are how the site functions. Mail you send is processed to answer you.
- You can ask for a copy of mail we hold about you, a correction, or deletion, by emailing the contact address. We have no user accounts.
- You can also complain to a data-protection authority where you live.
- The host that serves the static files may keep ordinary connection logs (IP address, user agent, URL, time). Those logs are the host's, and this site does not add a second analytics copy.
- We do not knowingly collect data from children.
- When this policy changes, the date under the heading changes with it. The current date is 2026-11-03.
