ShredDead patch notes and update history
ShredDead has one post-release patch so far. v1.0.1 arrived on 29 October 2026, three days after launch, and it changed balance, controls, and the skill tree. The table is the full public timeline from the developer’s Steam news feed.
| Date | Version | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-09-22 | — | Discord opens with a beta-test invite. |
| 2026-10-26 | 1.0 | Steam launch announcement. |
| 2026-10-29 | 1.0.1 | First post-release patch: balance, UI, and controller fixes. |

What v1.0.1 changed
Gameplay and balance, in the developer’s own wording:
- Prestige now starts with 5 points instead of 1.
- Several Prestige bonuses were buffed and the cost of others was reduced.
- The base damage of items was increased.
- The Flamethrower was buffed.
- A new skill-tree upgrade enables automatic grenade firing.
- The final wave was rebalanced and made stronger, especially on difficulties 2 and 3.
UI and controls:
- PlayStation and Nintendo button glyphs were fixed, and keyboard key glyphs were added.
- The skill-tree zoom-out range was extended.
- The Statistics and Horde button positions were adjusted.
- Several minor UI and visual improvements shipped with the patch.
The patch notes are the developer’s post, not a datamined changelog. The store page prints no build number, so 1.0.1 is the version named in the news post; the number is not read from the game client.

The demo build string
The itch WebGL configuration still contains productVersion “Demo 0.1.3”. That is a demo-build string, not the Steam full-game version, and it is a single build-file observation. The itch page did not show an update date in this check.
Reports still open on the board
- Skill-tree zoom that recenters and hides nodes (thread with a screenshot).
- Windows 11 IL2CPP load failure, one report.
- Graphics going dark, one report, no reply.
- Horde wave one dropping nothing after a failure, one report.
- Windowed mode, asked, not answered.
v1.0.1 does not mention any of these in its notes. A patch note that stays silent about a bug is not proof that the bug was fixed, so treat them as open until a player reports otherwise.
